In this case, I support SC judgement. It is a rare occasion, majority judgement is on the right track while Justice Indu Malhotra in a wrong direction.
Temple-Darshan rules are situational / circumstantial at best, neither Brahma-Vakya nor Akhanda-Satya of Sanatana Dharma. With passage of time, we must change, we must not resist change / improvements.
If we do not, how can we then condemn Katha-Mullahs for being murderously fanatical destroying the country? Hindu women of all age-groups MUST be allowed unhindered entry / Darshan in every Mandir after due diligence of hygiene.
As it is, no one is generally allowed inside Garbha-Grha, so where is the merit in banning their entry into Mandirs?? Why should anyone object to their having Darshan from a distance? Every protest is utterly mis-guided and frivolous on this issue. This judgement must be celebrated and welcomed.
Even males are asked to enter Mandirs topless and Supreme Court never considered Man-Woman parity in this case. Such a horrible gender-bias has been completely ignored by all sections of society, every wing of the Government.
This is a practice I find utterly humiliating and disgusting. I had come out of Shri Padmanabha Mandir in Tiruvananthapuram after Darshan, angry and humiliated.
I propose, rules and regulations in every Mandir must be finalised after due deliberations with all stakeholders and open to be questioned and reformed time to time.
