Let me at the outset state that I am against Sec295 A which makes HURTING RELIGIOUS SENTIMENTS AS A CRIMINAL OFFENCE.
But as Sec295, 295 A and 153 makes hurting religious sentiments as criminal offence, It Clearly implies that ;
The Constitution and the courts agree that WE THE PEOPLE OF INDIA ARE EMOTIONAL BEINGS AND HAVE RELIGIOUS SENTIMENTS AND ARE NOT MERELY A PART OF FOOD CHAIN.
So, Can we belittle the religious sentiments of any group or community or can we negate its applicability stating that This section is applicable only to a particular community and not for others or Can we question that it is applicable to certain Types of religious sentiments and not for all kinds of religious sentiments and Can any one argue the Validity of a religious sentiments.
And if the supporters of this Act are not able to answer all this then they should stop preaching and giving sermons on COW slaughter ban.
There can not be Ifs and Buts in this.
The Best way forward is REMOVE 295 A and allow every thing. Let Tasleema and Salman Rushdie write anything and Fida’s followers draw nude pictures. Let that Cong Keralite kill cattle and Let some sell pork and jhatka meat anywhere even if there is a mosque nearby.
Let there be an act that makes; Issuing Fatwas and Public threats a Criminal Non bailable Offence.
And till this does not happen, then One got to bear with this Crap ; RELIGIOUS SENTIMENTS.
